It's never an easy venture finding a psychologist with the right "fit" for you. I hope this web site will give you a bit more information with which to make your decision.
I have been a psychologist in Alberta since 1987 and have learned (and continue to learn) ways of helping people make the changes they wish to or need to make in their lives.
Each client has unique needs and counseling or therapy is adapted specifically to each person. However, I work mainly from a cognitive behavioral approach. Cognitive behavioral therapy identifies how a person's way of thinking about events or issues as well as their actions affect their situation. People learn to challenge themselves and their thinking, and practice new behaviors and habits in order to live more productively and with greater satisfaction.
This approach can be used with both adults and children. Some of the issues that I can help you deal with more effectively are:
- Communication problems in relationships
- Work-related problems
I am also trained in EMDR, a technique that has been proven effective with trauma.
